Draupadi Murmu Biography: एनडीए से राष्ट्रपति पद की उम्मीदवार द्रौपदी मुर्मू ओडिशा के उपरवाड़ा गांव की रहने वाली है..उनका जन्म 20 जून 1958 को संथाल जाति समूह के एक आदिवासी परिवार में हुआ था…उनके पिता का नाम बिरांची नारायण टुडू एक किसान थे। द्रौपदी के दो भाई हैं। भगत टुडू और सरैनी टुडू। साल 1969 से 1973 तक आदिवासी आवासीय विद्यालय में पढ़ाई कीं और उसके बाद ग्रेजुएशन के लिए भुवनेश्वर के रामा देवी वुमंस कॉलेज में एडमिशन ले लिया…इसके बाद द्रौपदी ने ओडिशा के राज्य सचिवालय से नौकरी की शुरुआत की। उन्हीं दिनों में द्रौपदी की मुलाकात श्याम चरण मुर्मू से हुई…श्याम चरण भी भुवनेश्वर के एक कॉलेज से पढ़ाई कर रहे थे…साल 1980 में दोनों में प्रेम हुआ। इसके बाद श्याम, द्रौपदी के घर विवाह का प्रस्ताव लेकर पहुंच गए
ओडिशा के बेहद पिछड़े और संथाल बिरादरी से जुड़ी 64 वर्षीय द्रौपदी के जीवन का सफर संघर्षों से भरा रहा है। आर्थिक अभाव के कारण महज स्तानक तक शिक्षा हासिल करने में कामयाब रही द्रौपदी ने पहले शिक्षा को अपना करियर बनाया।

Her father’s name Biranchi Narayan Tudu was a farmer. Draupadi has two brothers. Bhagat Tudu and Saraini Tudu. Studied in tribal residential school from 1969 to 1973 and after that took admission in Rama Devi Women’s College, Bhubaneswar for graduation. After this Draupadi started the job from the State Secretariat of Odisha.
In those days, Draupadi met Shyam Charan Murmu. Shyam Charan was also studying from a college in Bhubaneswar. In the year 1980, both of them fell in love. After this Shyam reached Draupadi’s house with a marriage proposal. The journey of 64-year-old Draupadi, who belongs to the extremely backward and Santhal fraternity of Odisha, has been full of struggles. Due to financial constraints, Draupadi, who managed to get education only till her graduation, first made education her career.
