There are some new softwares available for 2D and 3D artists in this months belated resource roundup.
2D Software
I became aware of 2 different vector art programs at the end of last year, VectorStyler and Paragraphic.
VectorStyler
I thought VectorStyler would be useful because it has some features not present in Affinity Designer, particulary the warping and deform tools caught my interest. VectorStyler is developed by Numeric Path in Finland.
Paragraphic
Paragraphic is a new vector based program with parametric control enabling creation and ability to modify multi-level repetitions and patterns, applying flexible modifiers or randomization. The results can be saved or copied and pasted as SVG vectors into other programs. It has been in early alpha access but now the full version 1.0 has been released. Paragraphic is developed by Lost Minds.
Fell
Krita had another release update in January (5.2.9) which seems to have been mainly bugfixes. They are also working on a Fast Sketch Cleanup plugin. David Revoy updated his excellent brush bundle.
Animation Software
Expressive Animator
Expressive Animator updates include a pencil tool, split text, a resize tool and new SVG export options. You can read more about these updates on their blog.
3D Art
Unbound
Unbound is now free to download and use for everyone from their website. It is a software for making games and 3D models with intuitive fun tools. It uses SDF technology so there is no geometry to worry about and everything is a non-destructive workflow. Models and games can be exported.
That is it for now. I have been working on new projects, trying new software and learning more about the sculpting tools in Blender lately so perhaps there will be some more articles on the blog at some point.
