In this months resource roundup I found resources for 3D and 2D art including depth map generation in Blender and some cool resources for Krita.

Depth Map Batch for Images is a Blender addon for making depth maps from images from a batch of images in a specified directory, video file, or a single image using efficient batch processing. I think the great thing about this is that It is run entirely locally on your own machine without relying on external APIs or websites.
I bought the addon last week and finally got around to using it. I tested it on some of my 2D paintings. The depth maps using the Depth Anything V2 model are very good. I’m sure this will come in handy for image editing if I need a depth of field or fog effect and perhaps if I want to mix my 2D work with 3D.
The developer for this addon also has one called Zform which is for converting depth maps and images to 3D meshes. This is something that can be done manually but is one of those things that is pretty tedious if you have to do it a lot so a one click addon is welcome.

Blender has a new tech showcase called Project Gold which looks really cool but even cooler is a free addon which was developed for this project which lets you create painterly stylised looks for 3D art called Brushstroke Tools.

I spotted a few cool resources for Krita lately. One is a video on the official Krita YouTube channel about creating templates for fine art canvas textures in Krita 5.2.6.
Another is a brush resource for metallic painting called Metallics by Draneria. It looks really awesome, I haven’t been able to do much art lately and check them out but hopefully soon.
Thanks for reading, please be sure to revisit this page over this month in case I find anything else.
